Interface Sounds

If on, several (mostly subtle!) sounds will play when certain user interface events are triggered.

Metronome: Time Signature

A choice of 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures. Please refer to Wikipedia for more information about time signatures.

Metronome: Rhythm

A choice of playing the beat only, with clicks (or hats) on every other 8th (duple), or clicks (or hats) on triplets. Please refer to Wikipedia for more information about duple and triplet rhythms.

Metronome: Sound

Several sound sets can be used with the metronome, including: Click (a standard click sound), Roland TR-808, Roland TR-909, and a live drum kit.

Metronome: Disable Screen Lock

If on, your iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen will never dim while using the metronome. Please be cautious with this feature—it might shorten the lifespan of your device’s display.

Key: Sound

The piano keyboard in Beats can be used to play a piano or synth sound.

Factoid: the synth sound in Beats is from a Studio Electronics SE-1X “Angel Dust”.
