Usage bars show “X of Y” style usage are used on all accounts that can use them. Typically, this means postpaid phone accounts or ADSL usage, where you have a certain quota for the month or billing period. This translates to something like “you’ve used 2GB of your monthly 50GB quota”.
For prepaid accounts or accounts that only have a usage total, this isn’t possible, because there is no monthly quota. With no quota, there’s no reference point for the bars. There is no “X of Y”, only X.
For some providers, we also show history graphs. These are created from the information available on the provider’s website. We only ever use data that the provider generated. We could save history stats within Consume itself, but that would mean opening the app at a very regular interval, and even then the stats couldn’t really be seen as accurate. This becomes even more complex when you realise that a lot of provider stats are delayed by up to several days.
Therefore, we decided that we should only ever use history information that comes directly from a provider.
