Exporting

It's possible to export single jobs or all jobs linked to a single client in Jobs. All exporting from Jobs is done via email.

Exporting a job

Tap Export Job while on the job details screen. You will be asked to enter an email address to export to. You can set up a default email address on the Settings tab so you don't have to enter it every time, if you'd like.

Exporting all jobs linked to a client

Tap Export while on the client details screen. You will be asked to enter an email address to export to. You can set up a default email address on the Settings tab so you don't have to enter it every time, if you'd like.

Export formatting

There's quite a few different formats you can export using. These have various advantages and disadvantages, depending on which applications you're using Jobs with. These can be selected in on the Settings tab.

Include Sessions

If on, all exporting will include the session information.

CSV

Exporting as CSV places comma separated values in the body text of the email.

CSV Attachment (.csv)

Exporting as a .csv attachment adds a comma separated value file to the email. This is best for importing into Apple's Numbers part of iWork).

CSV Attachment (.txt)

Exporting as a .txt attachment adds a comma separated value file to the email with a .txt file name extension. This is best for importing into Microsoft Excel.

Plain Text

Exporting as plain text exports nicely formatted data for viewing by humans in the body text of the email.

Plain Text Attachment

Exporting as plain text attachment exports a nicely formatted text file for viewing by humans.

Please note: CSV attachments are formatted as UTF-8 to provide the greatest compatibility with 3rd party programs such as Excel. There may be issues with certain characters that are not part of the UTF-8 standard. Plain text attachments are UTF-16 formatted which allows support for special characters and addition languages, like Kanji and Hebrew.
