Kapowie is a challenging game that’s easy to pick up, but requires speed and pinpoint accuracy to master. It’s also quite possibly the only game available on the App Store containing penguins in elevators.
To play your own music with Kapowie, simply launch the iPod app and play a song or playlist before launching Kapowie. Kapowie’s in game music will be muted, letting you jam along to that punk-folk-trip-hop track you love so much.
To shut Kapowie up, simply turn on your iPhone’s mute switch. Kapowie also has music and sound effects volumes under the Options menu. These can be used to silence Kapowie on iPod touches.
Kapowie features a local and global leaderboard. Variety is the spice of life, so we’ve limited the global leaderboard to one score per user, giving everyone a better chance of charting.
If you receive a phone call while playing, or need to quit Kapowie for any reason, don’t worry. Kapowie can resume your game from wherever you were up to previously. Simply relaunch Kapowie, tap Play then Resume to keep on shootin’ those penguins.
We’ve found that playing using one finger (either your pointer or index finger) with your iPhone or iPod lying flat or being held by your other hand yields the best results. Hovering close to the screen also helps... the closer you are to your target, the quicker you’ll be able to shoot it.
No animals were harmed in the making of Kapowie. Except a few penguins, but they were in elevators and totally asking for it with their beady little “shoot me” eyes.
