Saving a system report

If an app is having problems, we may request a system report from you to help us diagnose any issues. A system report contains information about your Mac’s hardware.

To create a system report, please choose About This Mac from the Apple menu at the top left of your screen, then click More Info. This will open the System Information app.

Please now click on the System Report button, then choose Save from the File menu and save the file to your desktop, then email it to us.

OS X 10.6 users

If you’re using OS X 10.6 please note that the steps are slightly different. Holding down the option key and choosing System Profiler under the Apple menu is a quick way to open the system report for 10.6, 10.7 and newer.
