Trouble unarchiving ZIP files?

We receive quite a few emails regarding issues unarchiving ZIP files in Mac OS X. So far 100% of these problems have been solved by using Mac OS X’s standard archive utility rather than StuffIt Expander.

If you’re seeing “error #17540” in StuffIt Expander, then please right or control-click on the file in Finder and choose Open With > Archive Utility to open the archive with Mac OS X’s standard archive utility.
