Reordering items

macOS 10.13 High Sierra and 10.12 Sierra #

Menu items can be reordered by holding down the Command (⌘) key and dragging the icon in your Mac’s menubar to reorder (the one at the top of your screen). Dragging a menu item out of the menubar will remove it.

macOS 10.11 El Capitan #

macOS 10.11 El Capitan made some great, but significant security and stability changes that affected the way iStat Menus needs to be built. As part of this change, menu item order is now edited from within iStat Menus.

To change the order of menubar items:

  1. Open the iStat Menus app.
  2. Go to the “Order” tab.
  3. Drag the tokens to change the order of items.

iStat Menus’ menubar items can be either side of Apple’s menubar items, but not in-between them.

macOS 10.10 Yosemite and older #

Menu items can be reordered by holding down the Command (⌘) key and dragging the icon in your Mac’s menubar to reorder (the one at the top of your screen). Dragging a menu item out of the menubar will remove it. This works for some third party menu items and all Apple menu items.
